Southern Lehigh Soccer Mission Statement
The goal of the Southern Lehigh Soccer (SLS) program is to provide the best possible soccer experience for all our players and to do this in an environment that will allow the players to reach their maximum potential. To attain this objective, the program aims to teach and develop within our players the techniques, tactics, fitness, and psychology necessary to be quality soccer players. The ultimate goal of our soccer program is one of player development and not necessarily one of winning and losing. The goal of our program is to provide the fundamentals necessary to allow the kids to achieve success when they leave the program and continue their soccer experience in High School and College.
Our Program: Coaching Resources
Whether you are an experienced coach or coaching for the first time in your life, US Youth Soccer has the resources to help you before, during and after the game.
- Lesson Plans, First-Time Coaches, Rules of the Game, Video Clips, Documents from the Doc's Desk, Coaching Articles, Continuing Education, Workshop & Archived Presentations
This is the preferred training curriculum which we encourage our coaches to use in an age-appropriate manner...
- Scheduled Licenses & Courses, The Evolving Game (Newsletter), U.S. Soccer Coaching Pathway, Training Exercises & Sessions, Intramural Curriculum, Video Sessions & Exercises, Chalk Talk, 3 Q's with a Coach and Thoughts from the Bench.
This is an alternative curriculum which we encourage coaches to use in their training sessions. Session Plans are organized by Player Age Groups and by Training Themes. Each Practice Plan is designed specifically to be age appropriate. Age groups are designated in even years (i.e. U6, U8, U10, etc.) but the sessions are also appropriate for the odd year preceding the age group listed (e.g. U6 practice plans are appropriate for U5 players). If you believe that your players need more or less challenge, feel free to try Practice Plans in an older or younger age group.
